2026 Stollery Golf Tournament Raises Over $52,000 for Children’s Health 

RE/MAX Vision Realty Charity Golf Tournament Raises $52,500 for the Stollery

Drayton Valley, AB – September 3, 2026 — Community generosity was once again on full display at the second annual RE/MAX Vision Realty Charity Golf Tournament, where 96 golfers, dedicated volunteers and an incredible group of sponsors and donors came together to raise $52,500 for the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Held August 22 at the Drayton Valley Golf Club, the sold-out tournament featured 18 sponsored holes, entertaining games and challenges, an exciting live auction, countless prizes and a celebration dinner—all in support of children and families who rely on the Stollery.

“We continue to be overwhelmed by the generosity of our community,” said Rachelle Dempster, Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Vision Realty. “Our granddaughter, Amadea, spent much of her precious 20 months of life at the Stollery, so this cause will always be deeply personal to our family. To see this tournament continue to grow—and to surpass last year’s incredible total—is something we will never take for granted.”

Drayton Valley’s former Stollery Champion Child, Ryder Rooyakkers, attended with his family and once again played a special role in the day. Ryder’s enthusiasm and connection to the Stollery brought added meaning to the event and reminded everyone exactly why they had come together.

The live auction featured several unforgettable experiences and locally created items, including a Chef’s Dinner Experience with Khals, a 30-minute helicopter ride, two custom-made fire pits, a beautiful custom planter set and much more. Golfers were also treated to an extraordinary selection of gifts and prizes generously donated by local businesses and supporters.

Barnie Yerxa, representing the Delta and Marriott hotels in Edmonton, joined the tournament and helped make the day even more memorable by giving away several hotel stays complete with meals.

This year’s major sponsors included Gold Sponsor Brandette Well Servicing Ltd., Silver Sponsor Surge Controls, Dinner Sponsor Co-operators–Charron Insurance & Financial Solutions, and Exclusive Legacy Sponsor Bonterra Energy.

Bonterra Energy also donated the purple golf balls used during the popular Lucky Ball Challenge, helping turn another fun moment on the course into additional funds for the Stollery.

The tournament’s meaningful Legacy candles returned this year, sponsored by Mae Chow of Duncan Craig LLP and created by Amadea’s parents, Braeden and Rachel Dempster, owners of Simply Canadian Candle Company. The candles served as a heartfelt reminder of Amadea and the lasting legacy behind the tournament.

Many of the tournament’s sponsors returned for a second year, joined by new supporters from throughout Drayton Valley, Brazeau County and beyond. Scotiabank Drayton Valley branch raised money at the chipping challenge they hosted at the tournament and they matched those funds to bring a total of $6,000! Their generosity helped create a first-class experience for golfers while ensuring that even more funds could be directed to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.

The $52,500 raised will support the Foundation’s work funding specialized pediatric care, advanced medical equipment, family-centred programs and research that improves the lives of children throughout Alberta and beyond.
